A lot here is just like it is at home. We work. We take public transportation. We grocery shop and make dinner. We see the doctor when we need to and hail a cab when it’s getting late. The water … Continue reading

The other day, I told you all what I’ve been thinking about lately. Implicit in the idea was that I’m also learning a few lessons along the way, so I thought I’d be a little more direct and share what … Continue reading

Before I begin, I must implore you to watch “A Story for Tomorrow,” a stunning five-minute video by Gnarly Bay Productions that a good friend recently sent my way. The friend and I are both relatively recent expats, both on … Continue reading

About Me

Jennifer massoni pardini headshot

I’m a writer, editor, mother, and heart collector.

In 2012, I joined the pregnancy and infant loss community when we lost our first child, Lorenzo, during my second trimester. I subsequently miscarried, as one in five pregnancies do. I am now parenting after loss and writing about our journey in the The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Literary Mama, and here. I’m also a longtime magazine contributor and editor who lived in Chile for a while.

Sharing our story has taught me that vulnerability summons strength and solidarity—no one should have to feel alone.

Please consider me a friend. I invite you to explore my site and the resources I’ve gathered for those coping with loss as well as those supporting grief and healing. You may also follow me on Twitter and help me collect hearts with the Chain-Link Heart Project.
