May 14, 2015 Dear Politicians, Please stop. Stop making personal, medical, and parental decisions. Stop spending your valuable time dialing back rights women have had for over 40 years. Please put your privileged, powerful energy elsewhere… toward poverty and inequality … Continue reading

When Dr. Jessica Zucker first asked if I was planning to come to L.A. for BinderCon, I thought the clear answer was, “No.” The professional development conference, which launched in New York last year for women and gender non-conforming writers, sounded like what … Continue reading

Last week, my friend lost her baby girl at 20 weeks. Another rare complication. Another week of fear and hope and discussions with doctors and ultimately nothing that could be done to save her.     When she told me, … Continue reading

It comes on fast. First, acute, undeniable soreness. I go into action: apply heat, take Advil, drink water, rest as soon as I can. Maybe, this time, I can keep it away. By night, the fever begins to climb. By … Continue reading

About Me

Jennifer massoni pardini headshot

I’m a writer, editor, mother, and heart collector.

In 2012, I joined the pregnancy and infant loss community when we lost our first child, Lorenzo, during my second trimester. I subsequently miscarried, as one in five pregnancies do. I am now parenting after loss and writing about our journey in the The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Literary Mama, and here. I’m also a longtime magazine contributor and editor who lived in Chile for a while.

Sharing our story has taught me that vulnerability summons strength and solidarity—no one should have to feel alone.

Please consider me a friend. I invite you to explore my site and the resources I’ve gathered for those coping with loss as well as those supporting grief and healing. You may also follow me on Twitter and help me collect hearts with the Chain-Link Heart Project.
