Some time has passed since I last posted, and I’m still wrapping my mind around what’s transpired in the meantime. The events aren’t necessarily intended for reasoning or standard expectations. Instead, I’m seeing just how random everything can be (or … Continue reading

I’ve been telling you as much as I can about Lorenzo. For carrying him six months and holding him one hour, there is only so much to tell, but even that amount can feel infinite. Today, I also want to tell … Continue reading

When you become pregnant, one of the first things you try to figure out about something so mysterious is the baby’s due date. The excitement builds. The dreams begin to take shape. When will this little creature come into the … Continue reading

This Is My Tribute

Writing this is all I do. Writing this is everything I do. I journey here and I journey to my parallel, private writings about my son, and those are my main avenues to any real sense of “arrival”—that feeling that you … Continue reading

About Me

Jennifer massoni pardini headshot

I’m a writer, editor, mother, and heart collector.

In 2012, I joined the pregnancy and infant loss community when we lost our first child, Lorenzo, during my second trimester. I subsequently miscarried, as one in five pregnancies do. I am now parenting after loss and writing about our journey in the The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Literary Mama, and here. I’m also a longtime magazine contributor and editor who lived in Chile for a while.

Sharing our story has taught me that vulnerability summons strength and solidarity—no one should have to feel alone.

Please consider me a friend. I invite you to explore my site and the resources I’ve gathered for those coping with loss as well as those supporting grief and healing. You may also follow me on Twitter and help me collect hearts with the Chain-Link Heart Project.
