Credit: Duke University Press Only after weeding through nearly 100 years of surfing history, only after reading first-person accounts and speaking with experienced surfers, only after understanding my own experience in the water a bit better, do I feel prepared … Continue reading

About Me

Jennifer massoni pardini headshot

I’m a writer, editor, mother, and heart collector.

In 2012, I joined the pregnancy and infant loss community when we lost our first child, Lorenzo, during my second trimester. I subsequently miscarried, as one in five pregnancies do. I am now parenting after loss and writing about our journey in the The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Literary Mama, and here. I’m also a longtime magazine contributor and editor who lived in Chile for a while.

Sharing our story has taught me that vulnerability summons strength and solidarity—no one should have to feel alone.

Please consider me a friend. I invite you to explore my site and the resources I’ve gathered for those coping with loss as well as those supporting grief and healing. You may also follow me on Twitter and help me collect hearts with the Chain-Link Heart Project.
