So, I’ve been reading about mirror neurons. I know, I know, exciting stuff. For me, it is because it’s part of the medical (and EMT and legal and law enforcement and accident and laws of Physics) research I’ve been doing … Continue reading

Make that the “Austral” Hemisphere

I learned a new word today and it wasn’t in Spanish: austral. One of my intermediate English students taught it to me. I’m sure many of you know this word, but I’m also willing to bet there is at least one other … Continue reading

Storyboard for 2012 This is my story board, which I’ve introduced you to here and here. Well, I’ve dolled it up fresh in honor of the New Year, which will be its 9th in my care. It’s changed considerably over the … Continue reading

A lot, right? I’ve changed mine twice, but I’ll get to that in a bit. When it comes to our first name, it might also be the first word we hear in our mother or father’s voice. It might be … Continue reading

About Me

Jennifer massoni pardini headshot

I’m a writer, editor, mother, and heart collector.

In 2012, I joined the pregnancy and infant loss community when we lost our first child, Lorenzo, during my second trimester. I subsequently miscarried, as one in five pregnancies do. I am now parenting after loss and writing about our journey in the The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Literary Mama, and here. I’m also a longtime magazine contributor and editor who lived in Chile for a while.

Sharing our story has taught me that vulnerability summons strength and solidarity—no one should have to feel alone.

Please consider me a friend. I invite you to explore my site and the resources I’ve gathered for those coping with loss as well as those supporting grief and healing. You may also follow me on Twitter and help me collect hearts with the Chain-Link Heart Project.
